Who we are
Standard Web Co is an independent sole-trader business based at 34 Seymour Avenue, Kilwinning, KA13 7PQ, Scotland, United Kingdom. We provide website design, development, hosting, maintenance, and related digital services for owner-led businesses throughout the UK.
This policy explains how information is handled when you visit this website, submit an enquiry, receive a mockup or quote, or become a client.
Information you provide
When you use the guided website order or enquiry form, we collect the details you choose to provide. These may include your name, business name, phone number or email address, business type, service area, design choices, project notes, and referral code.
If you begin checkout or become a client, we may also hold selected add-ons, order references, project materials, approvals, correspondence, billing records, and the business information needed to build, maintain, measure and market your website. Standard Web Co does not receive or store your full card number.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the website, technical and usage information may be collected automatically. This can include your IP address, approximate location, browser, device, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, interactions, and visit times.
Cookies, local storage, and similar technologies may be used to support analytics, understand website performance, remember choices, and protect the service. While you complete the website order, your draft answers are saved only in that browser tab so a refresh does not erase your progress. The draft is cleared after successful payment or when the tab is closed.
How information is used
We use information to respond to enquiries, prepare website mockups and recommendations, provide quotes, deliver projects, manage hosting and care, keep business records, protect the service, and improve the website and its marketing.
Information may also be used where reasonably necessary to prevent misuse, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or meet legal and regulatory obligations.
Forms and service providers
Website briefs and enquiry submissions are processed through Web3Forms so they can be delivered securely. Embedded checkout, stored payment methods and recurring payments are processed by Square. The website is hosted on Vercel and uses Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity for website measurement and improvement.
These providers process information under their own privacy terms and security arrangements. Only the information reasonably needed for the relevant service is shared with them.
Analytics and session insights
Google Analytics 4 helps us understand traffic sources, page use, devices, and broad interaction patterns. Microsoft Clarity provides heatmaps, interaction data, and session recordings that help identify confusing or poorly performing parts of the website.
These tools may process technical identifiers and usage information. Please do not enter confidential, sensitive, or unnecessary personal information into website fields.
Legal reasons for processing
Depending on the circumstances, information is processed because you have asked us to take steps before entering a contract, because it is needed to provide an agreed service, because you have given consent, because there is a legitimate business interest in operating and improving the service, or because the law requires it.
Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before the request.
International processing
Some technology providers may store or process information outside the United Kingdom. Where this happens, processing is handled under the safeguards and contractual arrangements used by the relevant provider.
How long information is kept
Enquiry and project information is kept only for as long as reasonably needed to respond, provide the service, support the client relationship, resolve issues, and maintain appropriate accounting or legal records.
When information is no longer needed, it is deleted, anonymised, or securely retained only where a continuing legal requirement applies.
Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect information from unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or disclosure. Access is limited to people and providers who need the information for a legitimate purpose.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. If a serious incident affects your information, appropriate steps will be taken in line with applicable law.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to ask for access to your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict its use, object to certain processing, or receive a portable copy.
Privacy requests can be sent through the secure enquiry form by clearly stating that the message is about data protection. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you believe your information has been handled improperly.
Children and policy updates
This website and its services are intended for business owners and adults. They are not directed at children and Standard Web Co does not knowingly collect children's personal information through the enquiry form.
This policy may be updated when services, providers, or legal requirements change. The latest version and update date will always be published on this page.
